As I believe our relationship is such an important part of the therapy, here's a bit about myself to see if you feel we could work together.
I am a mother of three teenagers and live in Berkshire enjoying the countryside and walking my dogs. I first qualified as a Primary School Teacher working first in London, followed by a few years in Sydney, Australia. I took a break from teaching and while bringing up my children I set up my own photography business focusing on family portrait photography.
I loved the challenge of putting both children and adults at ease to get the best out of them, to get natural and happy photos. Through my love of working with both adults and children, I decided to re-train as a counsellor. I am currently running my private practice in Mortimer.
I have a BSc in Psychology, a Post Graduate Certificate in Education and in addition have completed Level 2 Certificate in Counselling Skills, Level 3 Certificate in Counselling Studies, Level 4 Diploma in Therapeutic Counselling and a Level 5 Certificate in Counselling Young People.
I also have a Masters in Developmental Psychology and a Level 2 Certificate in Self-harm and Suicide Awareness and Prevention. I am an accredited Member of the BACP.
I worked at Trust House Reading working with Adults who had suffered sexual and emotional abuse. I worked as the School Counsellor at both St Bartholomew's Secondary School in Newbury and St Helen and St Katharine School in Abingdon. I currently run my own private practice in Mortimer, Berkshire.
If you would like to book a counselling session with me or have any other questions, please feel free to get in touch.
